Yes, RSS bro, you’ve red it correctly! At the age of social networks and instant notifications do we still need that plain old technology?  I definitely think so! Don’t get me wrong, I’m on twitter and like it very much, but I’m reaching the point when it becomes unsustainable.

Why? Because, that unstoppable flow of news delivered every single second just leads to be unproductive. I find myself spending more and more time tagging news rather than reading them, and the second I’m away from my mobile device, I miss THE news (average lifespan of a tweet is around 18-25 minutes)…

So to make it quick: RSS allow news consumption at your own pace, is curated from off-topic content and store everything so you don’t miss a thread! (I also love the fact that it’s tagged “old”)

That being said, here is a small tip to still read Technet blog on your favorite RSS reader.

As you’ve probably not noticed, RSS feed have been suppressed from most Technet blog, but, thanks god, are still here.

How to reveal them is easy: add “rss.aspx” at the end of your Technet blog URI !

Example:

You want to subscribe to: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/windowsitpro/.

The URI provided to your RSS reader should be: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/windowsitpro/rss.aspx

That’s as simple as that, Enjoy Grampa’s technology !!

And while we are at it, if  you are looking after a good RSS reader, there is only on choice: InoReader! Inoreader has all the features available in Google reader back in the days, and when I say all the features, I really mean all (Don’t waste a penny on Feedly, InoReader is what you need !)
